How do we narrow the gap with the Pupil Premium?

Pupil Premium

The Government believes that the Pupil Premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their wealthier peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most. There is more information about the Government’s Pupil Premium scheme on the Department for Education website. Each school publishes a statement to report on how much money they received, how they spent it and how effective it has been.

Sports and PE Premium

We are incredibly proud of our sporting tradition here at St Saviour’s. The children enjoy the challenges presented to them and are keen to improve their individual skills. We took part in many competitions ranging from cross country running to indoor cricket, swimming and athletics, both indoor and outdoor, and both indoor and outdoor hockey where we became Tower Hamlets champions in both and went on to represent Tower Hamlets at the London Youth Games.

Our sporting champions for the year 2016/17 are Ruby Naughton, George Scales and Jidechi Ohakasim. All three represented the school with great sportsmanship, courage, perseverance and humility, always trying that little bit extra to achieve their very best.

Traditionally every child who has represented school at a sporting event receives a medal, this year we awarded 113 out of a possible 118 medals in our KS2 department, well done to our children and to our parents for their continued support.

Schools receive a government grant to promote sport.  Our Sports and PE Premium Report tells you how we spent last year’s funding and how we plan to spend it this year.
