Library opened in memory of Lynn Johnson

IMG_3008Lynn Johnson, who sadly passed away last summer, was the Chair of Governors at St Saviour’s for over 25 years. The refurbished library was opened by children’s author David Lucas in her honour on Thursday 10th December.  To remember her contribution we held a special school assembly. David Lucas read one of his stories and then gave books to the children in recognition of Lynn’s great passion for improving literacy.

Several members of Lynn’s family were present, together with clergy from All Saint’s Church and Barry Porter, the previous Headteacher.  A camera crew were also present, filming for the next instalment of the long-running ‘Seven Up’ TV series for which Lynn was a subject.  The series has been following a group of children since the 1950′s and catching up with them every seven years.
